Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, has so much to offer. The rich merchant past is reflected in the city extensions, formed by three halfmoonshaped canals, lined with 17th century mansions. The bridges connect the numerous connecting canals. We will see houseboats embellished with flower pots as if it were a minigarden. Apart from the beautiful old monuments, where nothing seems to have changed, you discover a bustling city, with two universities, rich museums and upcoming trendy neighbourhoods.
Amsterdam always has been a tolerant city, where numerous refugees centuries ago, found their free haven. Nowadays still, you might experience this tolerant and unconventional spirit. So let’s discover Amsterdam! And when you think you have seen it all, you still have to take the free ferry across the Ij, to discover even more!
Amsterdam – Walk
Before you start exploring Amsterdam on your own you may consider a guided walk with us. We will definitely visit the old harbour district which is the oldest part of the city. We will cross numerous canals and see the flower market. Of course we should cross the only natural waterway the river Amstel, which gave its name to the small harbour hamlett back in the days! Discover the rich 17th century – Dutch Golden Age – canalhouses and a hidden courtyard. The trendy Nine Little Streets are for yourselves to explore.

Amsterdam – Museum (Rijksmuseum) + Walk
Would you prefer to make a combination of a museum visit and guided walk? I will be your guide in the museum and during the walk. We will pass by the so-called Spiegelkwartier, a historic neigbourhood nestled between the Herengracht and Museumsquare. Here more than seventy antique dealers and art galleries are located, as well as high-end fashion, gifts and design shops. The flowermarket and Spui area will complete the tour.
